Welcome to Eric Taylor's License Plate Collecting Site!
Welcome to my license plate collecting website! Here you will find all kinds of information about rare license plates from the United States and Canada. Included is an extensive photo gallery of some personal favorites from my collection as well as information about a project I am currently working on which catalogues all known city and county porcelain license plates from the U.S. and Canada. Please take a moment to explore the various pages in this site, beginning with the links below. If you want to learn more about license plate collecting, I recommend visiting the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA) official website. A Little Bit About Me and My Collecting Interests:I have been collecting license plates together with my father, Bob, for about 15 years now. Over the years we have specialized in early plates from the U.S. and Canada, but particularly porcelain plates of all types. Additionally, we have focused our collecting on Hawaiian plates through 1956, again specializing on the earliest years in the teens and twenties. Currently, our primary interest lies in expanding our porcelain collection to include more rare and unusual non-passenger, prestate, and city plates. I have been a member of ALPCA since 1985, and my dad and I are very active in the hobby, attending the National meet every year. Photo Gallery:In the photo gallery, you can view pictures of nearly 100 examples of plates from my collection. The gallery is divided into three major sections -- U.S. plates, Canadian plates, and plates I have available for trade. In this area you will find photos of many rare and sometimes unique plates. To see a larger image of any plate, simply click on it. In addition, you will find two links within the photo gallery -- one to a page which explores the history of Canadian porcelain plates, and the other to a similar analysis of early Hawaiian plates which includes a special photo gallery of the Territorial Tags which were issued from 1912 to 1921. I am always interested in adding new and interesting plates to my collection, so please contact me if you have anything available that you feel I might be interested in. ENJOY! City and County Porcelain Plate Project:I am currently in the process of compiling data and photographs of all known varieties of city and county porcelain license plates from the United States and Canada. At present, more than 750 different known varieties and thousands of known numbers are included. If you are aware of any unusual city or county porcelain plates either in your own collection or someone else's, I would love to hear about them. I welcome any contributions to this project - known numbers, photographs, information, etc. To get in touch with me via e-mail, please click HERE.
